Nomadic Lifestyle: Everything You need to know

What is a nomadic lifestyle

A nomadic lifestyle is traveling often to many locations while avoiding settling down or remaining in one area. The earliest type of human culture that is still in existence today is probably nomadic. Nomads are often individuals or tribes that do not view themselves as being attached to a particular piece of territory. Even while nomad life and nomadic communities have their own laws and traditions, they are completely ignorant of and do not follow Western property rights.

People who practice nomadic living often migrate from one location to another. Their migration is often influenced by the  temperature, season, water supply, and the migration of animal herds.

Nomadic lifestyle history

According to a study conducted in the southwest of Iran, nomadism most likely first appeared in Iran approximately 8000 years ago. While excavating an old hill near Andimeshk in 1974, a team of experts discovered an old camp that had been utilized by the Nomads some 8000 years before.

Nomads around the World

There are many nomadic communities around the world who practice nomadic lifestyles. Three categories are typically used to categorize nomads. There are three types of nomads: peripatetic, pastoral, and hunter-gatherers. The first kind of nomads were hunter-gatherers.

Hunter-gatherers wander about a lot. They look for seasonal wild fruits, vegetables, and animals. Up until around 10,000 years ago, all humans were hunters and gatherers. Pastoral nomads frequently remain in one place. They may cover hundreds of square kilometers of territory. Peripatetic nomad is someone who often moves about while doing a trade. The rise of agriculture and industrialisation dwindled their numbers.

Modern nomadic lifestyle

Modern nomadic lifestyle is not so different from the old form. Modern entrepreneurs are practicing  the digital nomadic lifestyle.  Anyone can lead the digital nomad life nowadays. But it needs the biggest shift in our mindset. To lead a digital nomad lifestyle or atleast the semi nomadic lifestyle, you need to do 3 important steps .

1. A solid plan

You need a solid plan in order to be a digital nomad. It needs firm commitment and a plan. You should visualize the steps so that you can be prepared for your journey. You should also prepare yourself for the bombardment of questions from the mainstream communities, such as family and friends.

2. Appreciate the emotions

Traveling will bring you both excitement and exhaustion. Sometimes it seems that the digital nomad lifestyle is incredibly daunting. All you need is emotional cohesion and reminding about the core purpose and the intentions.

3. Create the way to the new pattern of life

You should shed the old mentality of everything in order and within the reach of the cusp. Accept the new way of life and embrace it from your heart. Practice yoga and meditation to clear the cluttering in your thoughts.

Challenges in nomadic lifestyle

1. The stigma surrounding homeless is quite deep.

2. One’s movement would be restricted by the weather in a place like the USA, especially during the winter. It would be challenging for a nomad to go to Chicago in their tent.

3. Almost all lands that support nomadic lifestyle are now owned by someone. So you can not trespass just like that.

4. Nomadic lifestyle is sometimes utterly exhausting and mentally taxing to lead. It’s certainly not for everyone.
